The 3M Company was founded in 1902, and over the years has grown from a small sandpaper company to a global diversified technology company, with companies in more than 60 countries.

3M Kenya is located in the cosmopolitan city of Nairobi. 3M has had a presence in Kenya since 1960. 3M Mid-Africa Limited was incorporated in 1970 and the company was re-registered as 3M Kenya Limited in 1977.
